MOVIE NIGHT – SEPTEMBER 5

Parks and Recreation will be showing “Ghostbusters” at 8:30 PM on Friday, Sept. 5 at Oakbourne Park. Bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy a movie under the stars.

LYME DISEASE PRESENTATION

TUESDAY, AUGUST 12, 2014 at 7:30 PM

Did you know that Pennsylvania has the highest number of cases of Lyme disease in the country and that Chester County has the highest number of cases of Lyme disease in the state?!

Westtown Parks and Recreation Commission has invited Doug Fearn, President of the Lyme Disease Association of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Inc. to come speak with our residents about Lyme and other tick-borne diseases, as well as deer population control and other prevention methods.

 The meeting is free and open to the public.


SUNOCO PIPELINE MAINTENANCE 

On Monday, July 14 through August 14, 2014, State Route 352 will be restricted between Wickerton Drive and Green Lane in Westtown Township weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for Sunoco Pipeline maintenance.  See attached PennDOT news release for more information.  ONLINE PAYMENT OF SEWER & TRASH BILLS

Westtown Township now accepts online credit card payments for Township sewer and trash bills.  Click on “Pay Bills Online” on the Index on the left side of page.


 WEGO POLICE WARNINGS

The Police have seen an increase in theft by in home service providers (cleaning, home health care, home improvement), and urge residents to check references, secure valuables, and do not leave contractors unattended in your home.

RECYCLE TV’s & COMPUTER

 BOZUTTO (CREBILLY) CONDITIONAL USE HEARING AUGUST 14, 2014

Continuation of the Bozutto Conditional Use hearing will be held at 7:00 PM at the Westtown Township Municipal Building, 1039 Wilmington Pike. The Board of Supervisors will receive evidence, consider, and possibly act upon the conditional use application of the Bozzuto Development Company, ISAOA; Crebilly Farm Family Associates, L.P.


COMMISSION VACANCIES

The Township is seeking volunteers to serve on the Parks & Recreation  and Historical Commissions.  P&R meets at 7:30 PM on the second Tuesday of each month at Oakbourne Mansion.  The Historical Commission meets at 6:00 PM on the third Thursday of each month at the Township building.  PRESCRIPTION DRUG DROP BOX

There is a Medication Return Collection Box in the lobby of the Westtown East Goshen Police Station, 1041 Wilmington Pike. Residents can safely dispose of unwanted or expired prescription medication M-F from 8:30am to 4:30pm.


   HEALTH & FITNESS CLASSES 

Parks & Rec is now offering Pilates and Yoga classes for adults at Oakbourne Mansion. Registrations for the Summer session can be found here: Summer 2014 H&F Form. Classes start June 23rd.  


  2014 YARD WASTE PICK UPS 

Yard Waste will be collected on the Saturdays listed below. Yard waste must be placed curbside by 7 AM in either biodegradable bags or open containers that can be dumped.  Branches should be cut in three foot lengths, bundled, and tied.  PLASTIC BAGS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED.
