PENNSYLVANIA REDISTRICTING AFFECTS WESTTOWN TOWNSHIP

The proposed  statewide redistricting was not approved by the state legislature.  At this time is not known if  Westtown will be represented by a different State Senator ( Domenic Pileggi), or if Westtown will be split between two different state representatives.    For contact information for the possible new representatives, click here.

NO LEAF BURNING

Westtown Township Ordinances prohibit the BURNING OF LEAVES.  Leaves should be composted or put curbside in biodegradable bags or open containers on leaf collection days.

YARD WASTE PICK UP

On Saturday February 25th there will be a dumpster behind the police station from 9 AM-1PM to drop off your yard waste.  

Curbside pickups will be all on Saturdays - March 24th, April 14th, May 5th, and June 9th.  Use the biodegradable paper bags or a container that can be dumped and have curbside by 7AM.  Branches should be cut in 3 ft. lengths, bundled and tied.  Plastic bags will not be taken.

NATIONAL PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE BACK PROGRAM

The next scheduled prescription drug take back event is set for Saturday, April 28, 2012 between the hours of 10 AM and 2 PM .   Drop off prescriptions at the  East Goshen Township  Building located at 1580 Paoli Pike, West Chester.

CREDIT CARDS FOR PAYMENT OF SEWER AND TRASH BILLS

Effective December 1, 2009, Westtown Township will accept Master Card and Discover for payment of sewer and trash bills.  The card user pays a 2.45% Convenience Fee (minimum $1.50) for each bill paid.  Call the Township Office, 610 692-1930, for more information.

RECYCLE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT

Staples, the office supply  store, will collect used electronics. All brands of computers, monitors, laptops, printers, and faxes will be accepted for a fee of $10 per large item.  TV's are not accepted.  The program is a collaboration of the US Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), the Product Stewardship Institute, and Staples.
